Duck Donuts is the tastiest new sweet spot on Long Island. The Bencivenga family has managed to make a donut bakery feel exactly like a beach hangout. Plus, they created a space that is inviting for kids and parents alike. As soon as you walk in, the tropical interior will make you feel like you’re on vacation; AND the incredible smell of fresh donuts rolling off the line will have you making plans to be a repeat customer before you’ve even ordered.

So, here’s the best thing about Duck Donuts: everything is made to order. Yep, you read that right. Your donut is cooked for you once you order it. Then, you choose from a zillion topping combinations that are available. Customers can order classic favorites like chocolate with sprinkles or you can go wild and get maple icing with bacon sprinkled on top. Blueberry icing with a lemon drizzle or Oreos sprinkled on your donut, it is truly endless.
If you know me, then you know that I was looking for the coffee as soon as I walked in the door. I found the charming Lighthouse Blend to be perfect. Specialty coffees like Americanos, Cappuccinos, and Lattes are also available.
I had a chance to chat with busy mom and owner, Veronica Bencivenga. Can you even imagine being in school and your parents open up the most amazing donut shop in the area? I asked what the kids thought about it and she says that with 57 employees, her children feel like they are part of a huge family with lots of siblings!
The Bencivenga family is incredibly happy to bring such a positive light to the community. They discovered Duck Donuts while on vacation and found a way to share it with all of us here. Also, even though it’s almost impossible to choose a favorite, Bencivenga says that she loves “The Sunrise” donut- lemon icing with raspberry drizzle- yum! She also highly recommends the sausage and bacon breakfast sandwich with maple drizzle.
My absolute favorite thing about this family-run business is that they want patrons to know that Duck Donuts is their family serving your family.
Personally, I love the idea that this great spot is run by a local family and that they are committed to giving back to the community. Within the first month of business they donated to Angela’s House here in Long Island and there are many more plans to “give back”. As the only Duck Donuts in New York state, this amazing new shop is certainly giving donut lovers something to talk about this summer!

OMG – seeing all of these donuts makes me so hungry! We don’t have a ton of donut options here in Hawaii, but there is a big bakery that makes these cream puff type pastries that are SO YUMMY!
